Week 2: Day 6 & 7

This week has been great so far. Yesterday we went in on Memorial Day at 7:00 am instead of 5:30 am and worked our butts off. It was nice to sleep in a little, but I prefer to get up at 5:00 am and get it done for the day.

Today was great, our trainer really pushed us to the point of sweating every last drop we had. It went by so fast. He has a contest going for the month of June. The prize is a two free night stay for the person with the best body transformation. He wants us to take another picture today and then we are doing measurements on Thursday. I have to say, I am shooting for this prize, I think I have a good chance if I can keep up the energy and strength!

In one week I have seen amazing changes. Clothes are getting loose, and I am getting stronger. We went climbing yesterday at the climbing gym with family for Memorial Day. The climbs have difficulties on them starting at a 5.4 all the way up to 5.11 and beyond. The only one I have been able to get to the top on is a 5.4 until yesterday when I climbed a 5.6 and 3/4's of a 5.7. I have tried both of those climbs a few times and could only make it 1/4 of the way up on both of them. I was so excited that I was able to actually do some hard and challenging climbs.

Anything is possible if you just try, and keep trying until to accomplish whatever your goal or goals may be.

Well, that is it for today. I will probably be back on Thursday. Have a great week!

Purple Day 5k for Epilepsy

On Saturday March 24th I had the opportunity to run in the first Annual Purple Day 5k for Epilepsy. This will go down as one of the most heart warming, memorable races I have ever done. This race was created by some of my most dearest friends, The Green Family: Greg, Angela, Gabe, Marisa, and the inspiration for it all, Natalie. Natalie is 11 years old and was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy when she was 8 months old.   I decided that I wanted to race and support this great cause and my friends to help find a cure for Epilepsy. Purple is the color to support Epilepsy so of course, if you know me, you go big or you go home and so I went big and bought me a purple morph suit that covered my entire body, head to toe in purple awesomeness! You should have seen Natalie's face when I showed up decked out in my purple-tastic outfit, priceless!   There were 160 runners/walkers at this race and an amazing group called  Push to the Finish  that pus...

I did it!

Yesterday in the mail I got this little gem: It feels amazing that I was able to accomplish so many goals this year! It has been a great year full of learning, growing and new lifelong friendships! Thank you to everyone who has been part of my journey, I have such a great group of friends cheering me on, I love you all. I can't wait to get out there and start helping other reach their fitness goals! Keep Moving, Keep Smiling, You've got this! --Jena

Week 2 Complete!

Well, I have completed 2 weeks of boot camp and I am feeling great. I can already tell a big difference in my clothes and in my energy levels. I love the routine of waking up, getting ready, and completing my workout for the day by 6:30 am. Everyone in our class is doing great. I am really enjoying this class, it feels good to be pushed to your limits and sometimes go beyond what you think you can do! On a side note, today is my Husband's birthday, so, it looks like I get to enjoy some Indian food tonight! Happy Birthday McKay! ---Jena
