A couple of weeks ago, April 28th 2012, I rode with a group of amazing women in the Front Runner Century bike ride. The ride was a metric century, which ends up being 62 miles. Well, I got it in my head that I wanted to ride a full 100 miles to say goodbye to the 100 pounds that will never be a part of my life again, so when I got home I rode another 38 to complete a full 100 miles in one day. It was an awesome experience to say the least! I also need send a shout out to my friend Kelli for riding another 38 for me too! She is a rockstar and I appreciate her support more than I can ever express.
The day started out fabulous with the Triathlete group I am part of. We all rode the train out to SLC together and then once the race started we all ended up splitting up and then reunited at the finish.
I had the greatest time riding with one of my closest friends Lori and my new friend Rhiannon. It was such a great feeling to cross the finish line with these two amazing woman! The ride was very scenic, it was a little cold, but it was still a beautiful day!
On Saturday May 12th I am riding Goldilocks with another group of friends, we are riding 60 miles and I can't wait!
You can do anything you set your mind to, you just have to go out and actually do it!
100 miles was a goal that I set and I went out and did it! Completing 100 miles made me so grateful for my health and strength!

Jena

Jena, you are amazing. I'm so happy for you. I can't wait to ride Goldilocks this weekend. What a great story of your weight loss. Keep up the great work.
ReplyDeleteThanks girl! You are a sweetheart! It was so much fun riding with you! Hope to see you out there tomorrow! <3
DeleteWhat a wonderful way to celebrate your 100 pounds milestone! :) Congratulations, Jena!!! I love bike rides myself and the most I've ever done in 1 day was 75 miles. But that has been many years ago! Your post made me want to try if I can do 100 miles too! :)
ReplyDeleteBest of luck loosing those last 25 pounds!
Jane
You are so awesome Jena! If and when I ever get a cycle bike you are going to have to drag me along with you. Oh and we need to go and shoot your new toy soon!
